Conference Transport

UESA will offer transfers from the Malta International Airport (or Valletta Sea Port) to the hotel in pre-scheduled groups irrispective of your arrival date. This will be coordinated after the closure of online registration. Although no transfer will be provided on your way back to the Airport, we will suggest a couple of alternatives.

During all conference events two coaches will be made available to take us around. If anybody would miss the coaches UESA will not offer any private transfer and one will have to make it either by public transport or by taxi.

Private Transport

For those of you staying for extra nights, probably the best means to travel around the Island is by public transport. One normal trip costs only 46 Euro cents and there is no need to pre-book your bus ticket beforehand. The public transport system terminus is situated at the Valletta Gate. The majority bus routes go to and from this terminus. During registration we will supply you with the relevant bus routes and maps which can be downloaded from here.

We will also supply you with the telephone number of a taxi company which will offer all EYE participants taxi service at a discounted rate.

Currency

Malta will adopt the Euro in January 2008. During the conference all products in Malta will be in displayed in dual pricing (i.e. Maltese Lira and Euro). However the official currency would still be the Maltese Lira and thus the absolute majority of shops will only accept Maltese Lira. Very close to our hotel there are a number of currency exchanges which will remain open 24/7.
